This is where the story telling commences. Anything I make here is built off of my personal life.
From the Short North Arts capsule, that is an ode to the area I grew up in and spent most of my formative years to involving people like Jeni (Jeni’s ice cream), where I frequent and is a legend in our community. Taking design cues from vintage sports teams like the New York Mets, who I grew up loving. Making patches. Designing it all. Creating tech packs. Manufacturing it all.
Furthermore, designing T-shirts for Black History Month of some of my hero’s. As a practice I would design multiple tees and release them to the public weekly.I’d then allow the people to vote on their favorites. From there, I’d make the “favorite” available for purchase.
Even earlier, I designed the Columbus Gatekeepers collection which was a somewhat comical way at poking at the culture of the more seasoned creatives withholding valuation information or connections from the youth within my hometown.
Ultimately, I really wanted to lean into designing from a real place and creating things that told relatable stories.
